An important French Engineering School, Supélec is a benchmark in the field of information and energy sciences. It constitutes a privileged pathway leading to all economic sectors.
On an international level, Supélec can be compared to the most prestigious'Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Departments of the major European and American Universities. The quality of the engineers who earn their diplomas here each year is recognised world-wide. The main part of recruitment is made through a competitive examination which is held following the completion of the 'Classes Préparatoires', along with recruitment through academic qualifications, of French or foreign students.
Engineer training constitutes the main mission of the School. It lasts three years, after two to four years of post-baccalaureate training. The School also proposes several post-graduate and doctoral training programs.
Training programs offered are:
The School offers students the possibility to participate in sports and other physical activities. Three or four disciplines practised at the same time and supervised by expert professors are proposed to students for periods of two months. Thus, there is not only the obligation to change disciplines, but also the possibility to choose according to one’s tastes and aspirations. The groups are comprised of six to twenty students, depending on the discipline.
The school favours, for all students, the regular and extensive practice of a sports discipline by insuring the educational supervision of training by the Sports Association. These training sessions naturally lead to University competitions and to inter-school tournaments.
