This method enables students to obtain general training within three years in the fields of energy and information sciences, leading to the award of a Supelec Degree in Engineering.
A few first-year places are available for students who hold a DUT (French University Technology Diploma) either in Electrical Engineering and Industrial Information Technology, or in Physical Measurements, that has been awarded by a University Institute of Technology attached to a French university.
Two fields are proposed for the same degree: "student" field and "apprentice" field, which begin in September 2008, after CTI accreditation (presentation form download here).
Process for selection and assignment to a campus
The competitive admissions process is based on the candidates’ qualifications. The candidate must request a candidate’s file from his or her University Institute of Technology Director, who is the only person who can assess whether applying would be appropriate. Only candidatures that have been forwarded with a favourable report by the Director in question shall be considered.
IUT Directors who wish to obtain registration forms for one (or more) of their student(s) may apply to:

Candidates who gain admission are assigned to a campus according to their preferences, the number of available places, and their ranking. Candidates admitted in apprentice field will be assigned only on Gif campus and have to find a firm before the beginning of courses.
The candidate is informed of the decision by mail by mid-July. If accepted, the candidate must reply no later than the end of July.
