This method offers 40 to 60 places and is intended for those who hold an engineering degree, certain sciences master’s degrees, or an equivalent foreign degree, and who wish to add greater depth to their training and round it off.

Holders with one of the following degrees may be allowed to take part in the second-year competitive admission process :

  • Degree in Engineering issued by a French Ecole or university, and which is recognized by the French Engineering Qualifications Commission

  • M1 in Sciences awarded by the French university, including the following degrees :
    • Physics,
    • Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Automation,
    • Electrical Engineering and Industrial Information Technology,
    • Mathematics,
    • Mechanics,

  • Diplomas issued by foreign universities or engineering schools :
    • These diplomas must be recognized by the Supélec Admissions and Diplomas Board and certified by French consular authorities in the country the candidate comes from.
    • Foreign candidates for competitive admission on the basis of degree qualifications should be aware of the need to have a good knowledge of written and spoken French to study at the School.
    • To be admitted, candidates who are foreign nationals must have a valid visa and other administrative documents for their stay in France.

The diplomas referred to for competitive admission on the basis of degree qualification must have been awarded no later than the June examination session. This rules out candidates who will have to sit exams in the September examination session during the year of admission. Selection is based on the file submitted and the interview held with the candidate.

Selection method and assignment to a campus

Selection is based on the candidate’s file and possibly on an interview. The admissions board is responsible for deciding who is admitted, and its decision is final.

The board that considers admissions based on previously-awarded qualifications assigns the various candidates selected to three campuses, according to their personal wishes and the number of places available.
