Administrative organization

The Master SAR organization has an Executive Committee and a Program Committee both chaired by the head of the Master SAR. The head of the Master SAR is appointed by the General Director of SUPELEC.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee acts as the Board of Directors of the Master SAR. In addition to the head of the Master SAR, the Executive Committee consists of :

• The person in charge of the Masters Programs in each empowered institution;
• One researcher or faculty member appointed by the head of each empowered institution for a renewable four-year term;
• Three researchers or faculty members whose names have been put forward by the Master SAR teaching staff for a renewable two-year term;
• Three external persons appointed by the heads of the jointly empowered institutions.

The Executive Committee meets at least twice a year, i.e. in spring and in autumn.

The purpose of the meeting in spring is, among other things, to :

• Set the list of modules and appoint the professors in charge of modules for the following academic year and
• Set the list of standard courses which will be made available to students.

The purpose of the meeting in fall is, among other things, to:

• Assess the previous academic year and
• Take stock of the start of the current academic year.

Program Committee

The Program Committee is in charge of all practical and daily aspects of the Master SAR as well as of relations with individual students; of student admissions and educational support, especially via approval of customized courses; of the search for and setting up of internships and their assessment; and of all Master SAR communications (Web site, application forms etc.).

In addition to the head of the Master SAR, the Program Committee consists of :

• One researcher or faculty member appointed by the head of each jointly empowered institution for a renewable four-year term and
• Two researchers or faculty members whose names have been put forward by the Master SAR teaching staff for a renewable two-year term.
  

Members of the Program Committee are also in charge of liaising with the students and the head office of their institution. The same person may be a member of both the Executive Committee and the Program Committee.
