Terms of student recruitment

In Europe, masters are basically two-year educational programs for which two types of recruitment exist: first year recruitment and second-year recruitment. Since the Master SAR is a second-year graduate program, it is only concerned with second-year recruitment.

The recruitment of students is the responsibility of the Program Committee. Students are recruited based on their application and possibly an interview, whereby both the students' prior degree course and personal career plans and motivations are taken into account.

Standardized European System (Bologna Process). To apply to the Master SAR, students must have successfully passed the first year of another Master program in applied mathematics, statistics, applied physics, electrical engineering or computer science at a French college or university or at a foreign university. More precisely, students must show proof of (at least) 240 ECTS credits. All ECTS credits obtained from past successfully completed courses will be taken into account within the framework of this specific educational program.

USA or any equivalent System for Higher Education. To apply to the Master SAR, students must have a Bachelor’s Degree in applied mathematics, statistics, applied physics, electrical engineering or computer science.

The Master SAR is also open to :

  • Third-year students registered at SUPELEC (who, if selected, may have the opportunity to follow the SAR program in parallel to their engineering studies with some adjustments);
  • Students registered at ENS CACHAN who have successfully passed the first year of the Master IST-EEA (electronics and applied physics).
  • Students registered at UNIVERSITY PARIS-SUD 11 who have successfully passed the first year of the Master IST-EEA (electronics and applied physics).
