The telecommunication field research in Supélec involves 33 research-professors (2 IEEE Fellow, 10 HDR), 50 PhD students and 10 postdoctoral researchers which belong to four groups.
The activity of the four research teams covers a large part of the most relevant areas in the field. Amongst the strong points tackled are: information theory, wireless networks coding, cross-layer design and optimization, software defined radio and reconfigurable implementations, cognitive radio and green communications, cooperation/competition in wireless networks, advanced physical layer techniques and finally the development and application of advanced mathematical tools to model and analyze the interactions among the dense networks’ users.
The teams are leaders in the French academic arena but have also contractual activities in particular in the transfer of knowledge and technology towards the industrial fields. On a local scale, the teams participate in the RTRA DIGITEO and also in several national clusters (System@tic, Astech, Image and Networks,…). On a national scale, they participate in several ANR projects and also in different European projects at an international level. The national and international scientific impact of the four teams is confirmed and sustained by several awards and prizes, by the collaboration with researchers and worldwide prestigious universities (Princeton, etc…), by the organization of workshops and seminars as well as the involvement of its members in the national (SEE, GDR ISIS,…) and international (IEEE, URSI …) board societies.
